Remanufacturing the Cartridge:
1. Samsung provide a Standard ML-D1630A cartridge with a yield of 2000 pages 2. The cartridge is chipped
Step 1: Split the Cartridge Remove six screws (three from each side) from the end plates of the cartridge:
Step 2: Remove Developer Roller
Remove the small contact spring
Remove the Plastic Fitting
The Developer Roller will lift away from the Hopper unit.
Step 3: Cleaning The Developer Roller
All AQC Group UK tests were conducted using a Developer Roller cleaned with a damp (with water) cotton cloth only.
Step 4: Cleaning the Hopper
The Hopper unit must be cleaned of all existing toner residue prior to refilling. Once all toner and contaminates have been removed, we advise a final cleaning of the Doctor-Blade with a Q-Tip.
Step 5: OPC Drum Unit & PCR Roller
The OPC Drum is held in place against the drum cartridge by a metal bar, lift drum unit away from the cartridge housing
Remove the Wiper-blade so the toner from the waste section can be removed.
Step 6: OPC Drum Unit - Contact Point
If you intend to reuse the OEM OPC - as we did during our toner evaluation procedure, be aware that inside the opc drum is a copper contact point, if this is damaged in anyway correct contact is not made with the cartridge and print image defects will occur.
a. Remove the copper contact from the opc drum.
b. Re-seat the copper contact back onto the end cap (can be glued) and re-insert the end cap back into the opc drum.
Step 6: Cleaning the PCR Roller
For all AQC UK testing we cleaned the PCR roller using a cotton cloth (damp with water) only.
Step 7: OPC Drum Unit - Drum padding and replace
Once cleaned, dust the opc drum with your selected drum padding powder and insert the OPC drum into the cartridge.
Step 8: The Chip
To remove the cartridge chip, use a small flat blade screwdriver to break away the small plastics ends as shown in the picture below.
This allows the cover to slide away and reveal the chip.
AQC Group UK Ltd provides compatible replacement chips.
Step 9: Refilling with AQC Group Compatible Replacement Toner
a. Remove the cartridge bung (if not done so already)
b. Fill the hopper with AQC Group compatible replacement toner; we suggest firstly that the two parts of the cartridge are closed together before filling the hopper unit. This is because Toner Leaking can occur from the gear end of the hopper unit, if it is not first secured in place by the opc drum unit.
