I made these videos some time ago, since this was originally aired, many other solutions for removing the OPC drum from the LJ2600 casing have been shown, however this still remains a good example of remanufacturing at low cost.
HP LJ2600 Drum Replacement Guide Here is a brief guide to replacing the OPC drum unit in the HP LJ2600 cartridges.
AQC Group provide replacement OPC drums compatible with our range of HP LJ2600 replacement Chemical Toners.
In Part 1: We show how to split the hopper into the two sections, drum unit and hopper unit.
First the two pins are removed, the first one using a small screw into the centre of the small plastic retaining pin. The second retaining pin is removed by drilling a small hole in the plastic housing alongside the pin. The pin is then removed will needle nose pliers.
Both springs and the drum shutter cover are removed.
The cartridge is now in two sections.
In Part 2: We show how to remove the old OEM original OPC drum, we simply use a junior hacksaw to cut down the side of the OEM drum. Care must be taken not to damage any other part of the unit, however there is more than enough room to complete the task.
Once we cut through the plastic end cap of the OEM drum, gently pull the drum unit away from the cartridge housing.
Now we can easily remove and clean or replace the PCR roller and the wiper blade. AQC Group provide replacement wiper blades.
In part 3: We show how to insert the AQC Group replacement OPC drum unit.
This drum comes with a small seperate end cap fitting, which is insereted into the drum unit first, then the OPC drum is fitted taking care not to damage the rum surface on the cartridge housing.
Simply apply pressure using a screwdriver
onto the small plastic end cap - which snaps into place leaving the drum securely in place.
